The MAFS UK 2024 couple Emma Barnes and Caspar Todd’s marriage had ups and many, many downs. After the MAFS UK reunion aired in November 2024, it was pretty unclear where they stood – even though they’d officially split, Caspar was still wearing the wedding ring on a chain around his neck. Emma has just updated us all on what her relationship with Caspar is like at the moment, more than a year since their time on MAFS.
So, in mid-November 2024, Emma and Caspar both said they weren’t in contact at all. The situation seems to have changed a bit. “I still text him ‘Happy Birthday’ and ‘Merry Christmas’, but I don’t get a response! I’m sure I will one day,” Emma told OK!, “he’s married now and I’m really happy for him.
“Of course, it would have been great if I’d have been matched with someone that I stayed with or that liked me. But what can you do? I don’t think any MAFS experience is perfect. I’d have hated to fall in love straight away and watch it slowly break down on TV, I think that would be much harder.”
For context, Caspar got married (but like, for real) in October 2025. He got with his new wife Niki Nicholson towards the end of 2024, and proposed marriage in April 2025.

Emma has previously hinted her relationship with Caspar changed while MAFS UK 2024 was airing. She’s now actually explained the impact that watching the show back had on Caspar. When asked by OK! about trolling, she responded: “I saw the backlash that Caspar got, and it isn’t nice. It can be tough, especially if you’ve had a bad experience on the show, you do get nervous about the episodes airing. It brings up challenging feelings, but you have a video or a phone call with welfare every day and a psych chat once a week, so the support is there. But that doesn’t change how hard it is.”
Erm, apparently Emma’s own dating life has been “completely different” since her relationship with Caspar ended on MAFS.
She told Edinburgh News September: “My dating life is atrocious. I had a date a couple of months ago where I went to the local pub. It was a first date and I had three people come up to me and ask me for photographs. It was awful.”

However, Emma does still seem to be besties with her fellow MAFS UK 2024 bride Kristina Goodsell. They keep popping up at events together a solid year and a half since filming wrapped. Kristina visited Emma in Bristol to celebrate her birthday. How wholesome.
