Now, whilst season nine of Love Is Blind was undoubtedly one of the most dramatic seasons so far, it wasn’t exactly a success as a grand total of zero couples ended up tying the knot.
Between the lack of love and the amount of cast members who only seem to be on the show to increase their Instagram followers, there have been calls from viewers to axe the show as it’s just not working anymore.

However, the creator of Love Is Blind season nine has not only addressed the fact that no couples got married this season but also responded to viewer backlash.
During an interview with Tudum, Chris Coelen admitted that he was very surprised that no couples tied the knot.
He explained: “While we’re always rooting for our participants to find a lifelong commitment, because that’s what they all say they come to Love is Blind for, most importantly we root for them to make the decisions they feel are right for themselves. And I think that’s what happened here.”

As for the mixed viewer reaction to season nine of Love is Blind, he commented: “I love our fans and I love their passion, and I have strong feelings about the Denver pod squad as well.
“I love that over a season, my feelings (and the feelings of the fans) will evolve in different directions and that our producing team, along with so many viewers, will take away different things from watching the same scenes in the same season.”
Finally, the creator also addressed whether Love Is Blind still works as a dating experiment, especially as this season ended so badly.
Chris explained that viewers need to remember that the “experiment is an experiment” that is supposed to “test two main questions.
“First, is it possible to fall in love with someone based solely on who they are? And second, if you do fall in love and get engaged, is that love strong enough to overcome the obstacles of the real, material world?”

As for the issues that season nine of Love Is Blind encountered, he explained that “at least one member of each couple felt their love was not strong enough to overcome the challenges of the real world, and they chose not to get married.”
However, Chris doesn’t see any issues in this happening, and has doubled down on its success, claiming: “That’s exactly how the experiment is supposed to work, so I would say not only is the experiment working, I think it’s working better than ever.”
