Gauteng Police have launched a double murder investigation following the harrowing discovery of two deceased women on a roadside in Tshwane on Sunday.

The grim find was made in the Mamelodi area, specifically in Mahube Valley. A video reportedly showing the victims lying on the roadside has been circulating widely across social media platforms.

Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed that officers found the bodies of the two women, aged 21 and 22, both having sustained gunshot wounds to the head.

Authorities are working urgently to establish the motive behind the fatal shooting. A formal investigation into a double murder has been opened.
