Shandesh pays tribute to women with her new project

After a breakout year, Limpopo-born artist Shandesh has released her latest EP, For The Queens, a project she describes as a celebration of women, empowerment and gratitude.
The new release follows the success of her chart-topping singles Sdudla or Slender, Di Chopper and Ga Mmapula, which helped cement her place as one of the leading voices in South Africa’s growing Lekompo sound.
With For The Queens, Shandesh continues to expand her creative range while staying true to the rhythmic roots that first earned her attention.
The EP brings together several collaborators, including Hitboss SA, Natiey Lepaka and King Salah. Together, they deliver a mix of high-energy dance tracks and more introspective moments, blending Bolobedu influences with contemporary African grooves.
Speaking about the project, Shandesh said it was inspired by the women who continue to motivate and shape her journey. “This is for every woman who’s ever inspired me, supported me or walked this journey with me,” she said in a statement.
