About the Bidvest Protea Coin Security Learnership Programme 2025
Are you a young South African interested in building a career in the security industry?
Bidvest Protea Coin, in partnership with the Gijima Training Academy, is offering a 12-month learnership aimed at unemployed youth from the John Taolo Gaetsewe District in the Northern Cape.
This initiative is designed to empower young people by providing them with the skills, knowledge, and qualifications required for a professional career in the security sector. Successful learners will gain a National Certificate in General Security Practices (NQF Level 3), accredited by SASSETA (Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority).
Programme Details
- Number of Positions Available: 30
- Duration: 12 Months
- Qualification: National Certificate in General Security Practices (NQF Level 3)
- Accreditation: SASSETA
The programme includes both theoretical classroom training and practical workplace experience, preparing participants for employment within the growing South African security industry.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 18 and 27 years old
- Hold a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Submit a valid South African ID
- Provide an updated CV
- Must be a local resident of the John Taolo Gaetsewe District (proof required)
- Submit proof of residence
- Provide a SARS document (Income Tax Reference Number)
- No criminal record
- Able to communicate effectively in English
- Able to read and write
- Be medically and physically fit
- PSIRA registration will be advantageous
