Baby shower to secret birth, all the unhinged ways *that* Scottish girl faked her pregnancy

Kira Cousins, the Scottish girl who faked her pregnancy and subsequent birth, is still explaining herself through a series of Instagram statements and stories.

After the viral story broke earlier in the week, Kira Cousins came forward with an explanation of why she faked her pregnancy with a reborn doll called Bonnie Leigh.

“So many fake profiles claiming to be me jumping on this to try get clout. This was not an easy thing to do. Yes, I lied, but when I lost baby with miscarriage, I didn’t know what to do,” she said. “My head wasn’t thinking straight and I couldn’t bear it. I done this because I was hurting and wanted to be a mum so badly. Yes, it was wrong, I know, but my head wasn’t in the sand with grief.”

Though Kira is still explaining her actions, the lengths she went to when faking her pregnancy bear repeating. Take a look.

As we know, the specific details of the viral story came to light when Kira’s cousin, Naeve McRoberts, posted several 10-minute videos on her family drama. In those videos, she detailed just some of the ways Kira managed to pull one over on the entire family

It began with announcing the pregnancy on Facebook, before having a gender reveal, where she was allegedly given all the essentials needed in the next few months. This included a £1,000 pram, clothes, gifts, and maternity wear. Throughout all this she wore a fake baby bump.

Kira supposedly attended the doctor’s appointments alone, telling her partner Jamie that he was prohibited from going into the hospital. She claimed the baby had a hole in its heart and faked scan pictures whilst she was taking selfies at the hospital to prove she was there.

When the time came to give birth, she did it alone, texting her cousin the next day from her baby’s perspective: “Hi, it’s Bonnie Leigh, I was born at 2:46 am, and I weigh five pounds and four ounces, the exact same weight as my daddy when he was born.”

Things only grew more concerning from there, with Kira allegedly posting regular Facebook updates as she tried to keep family members from learning the truth. When Jamie asked for a DNA test, she whisked Bonnie Leigh off to the hospital where she was diagnosed with having mucus, which prevents DNA testing, her cousin claimed.

Despite the baby not being real, she then introduced Bonnie Leigh to her colleagues at Morrisons. No one was allowed to take any pictures, including family members, and no one was allowed to hold or feed her.

Naeve said that Kira Cousins had an answer for “absolutely everything”, including wearing adult nappies because she had bleeding after the birth. When people finally started to question Kira Cousins’ statements, she deleted pictures of her baby that could have been used to prove she was lying.

This story is far from over.
