Grammy-winning DJ Black Coffee splurges on the most expensive residential property sale in South Africa this year.

South African DJ, Black Coffee, real name Nathi Maphumulo, has bought a R157 million mansion on Cape Town’s most expensive street, Nettleton Road in Clifton, News 24 reports.
According to public records at the Deeds Office, the Grammy Award-winning DJ purchased the property through a company called Little Ark Holdings for which he is the sole director.
The sale of The Pentagon Villa on Cape Town’s coveted Atlantic Seaboard marks the highest residential property sale in South Africa this year.
The 940m² villa boasts five en-suite bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, and eight parking bays, including four garages.
On 31 July 2025, Property Media Professional, Ash Muller announced the sale of the house on X, revealing that the house had been on the market for years.
“This 5-bedroom Villa in Nettleton Road, Clifton, Cape Town just SOLD for R157 550 000 to a South African buyer,” Muller said.
Muller said the house was on the market for R160 million and was sold by property agent Lance Cohen from Lance Real Estate.
According to Muller, the house was designed by Architect Stefan Antoni, who designed it so that every floor has sea views.
“There is also a 16m infinity swimming pool that is heated,” Muller added.
