One of the most random aspects of The Celebrity Traitors so far is not the fact the show chose Alan Carr to be a Traitor and that he’s actually good at it, but one of the most random feuds in history. And no, I’m not talking about Jonathan Ross getting rumbled by Ruth Codd and then taking her out of the game. I am of course talking about the apparent random beef between Olympic diver Tom Daley and Kate Garraway. A pair who have found themselves in a very unlikely feud after people felt like Tom Daley hated Kate Garraway due to his shady side eye – and now Kate has addressed The Celebrity Traitors feud for the first time.
Tom’s side eye went viral
In episode two, after Kate Garraway said she was “flabbergasted” – Tom Daley gave her a very shady side eye that quickly went viral. It became a massive meme. It was jarring and had people thinking there was some unknown beef between the pair that was just odd because they’re both famously very nice and positive people.
Reacting to the side eye after the show aired, Kate Garraway admitted she had no clue it happened til it aired. “You don’t (know) until it goes out. So I didn’t notice that. I was just flabbergasted.”
On the flip side, Daley said “I don’t even remember me having any kind of reaction to it,” through laughter. “When I saw it, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, there was no poker face from me.’”
Kate Garraway explained a bit more about The Celebrity Traitors Tom Daley feud on Good Morning Britain, and she’s taken it well to be fair. She said: “The weird thing for me is like everyone at home we don’t know anything that is happening, we don’t know about the people talking about us behind our back and it prompted a massive conversation with my kids last night.
“‘Oh my gosh people are talking about you behind your back, what is going to happen’. It allowed me to have the conversation with them that this is a game and everyone in there is playing a game. Actually in life you can’t control what people say about you so you just have to be yourself. I just had to say that so people don’t blame Tom Daley or anyone else.”
As of right now, Kate remains in the game and Tom Daley got murdered by The Traitors. She had the last laugh really.
