Disney+ is levelling up for sports fans in South Africa with the addition of ESPN and ESPN 2, giving subscribers access to two 24-hour live sports channels at no extra cost.
Starting from this October month, all Disney+ Premium and Mobile plan customers can stream the best of international and US sports directly from their accounts.
The inclusion of ESPN and ESPN 2 brings fans closer to the world’s biggest leagues and tournaments, this includes football to basketball, rugby, and more. The football lineup kicks off with six major leagues including the English Football League (EFL), Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), Dutch Eredivisie, German DFB Pokal, Saudi Pro League, Turkish Super Lig, and the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
American sports fans can also catch the latest NFL and College Football action, with College Basketball heating up later in the year, and the NBA season tipping off soon after. Rugby enthusiasts aren’t left out either, with access to the US Major League Rugby and Japan Rugby League One, both featuring several South African players.
Disney+’s expanded sports offering makes it easier for local audiences to enjoy live coverage, studio shows, and highlights without switching platforms.
