The actor Kristen Bell posted a rather strange message about her husband, and people are not impressed.
Kristen Bell has been married to the comedian and filmmaker Dax Shepard for 12 years. In celebration of their wedding anniversary, she posted a photo of him to Instagram.
She wrote: “Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivised to kill you, I never would.’” She then added a heart emoji.

Several of her followers were confused as to whether the photo is of him hugging Kristen, or one of their daughters.
Kristen Bell’s caption was dragged for being “weird” and for having “pick me energy”. One Reddit user wrote: “May this type of relationship find me.”
“The more he talks the more I cringe,” another wrote.
“I’m glad they get each other’s humour,” a Redditor added, “and I’m glad I do not.”

Many people also felt that sharing these remarks with the whole internet was “tone deaf” and insensitive to people who have experienced domestic violence. Someone commented beneath the post: “Kristen, there’s no way you posted this during domestic violence awareness month.”
“Is femicide not a thing in the US?,” another Instagram user wrote,”Here in the Netherlands a woman is killed by her (ex)partner every eight days. So to post this and call it sweet or a joke is wild to me.”
This is really, really not the first time that Kristen Bell or her husband Dax Shepard have made unusual comments about their marriage. He asked her to marry him via Twitter in 2013. In 2021, she posted a video of them arguing about Kristen leaving used toilet paper on the seat.
