Black Coffee address Enhle Mbali divorce: ‘You believe everything’

Black Coffee has broken his silence about his high-profile divorce from ex-wife, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa, calling on the public not to involve their two children in their commentary.

The DJ – real name Nkosinathi Maphumalo – has been ordered to pay spousal support to the mother of his two children.

The 49-year-old has since moved on to a new girlfriend, Victoria Gonzalez.

BLACK COFFEE BREAKS SILENCE ON DIVORCE

In a post on his X account, Black Coffee alluded to his high-profile divorce from ex-wife, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa. In it, he seemingly appealed to the public.

He tweeted, “I understand that you people believe everything you read, and that’s fine. As a father, I have one request. Please stop posting my children on your socials.”

The DJ made no mention of his ex-wife, whom he has been ordered to pay spousal support.

The former couple married in a traditional wedding ceremony in 2011. In 2017, they held a white wedding, at which Enhle reportedly signed a prenup. They officially parted ways in 2019.

Enhle’s attorney, Jerry Nkeli, Coffee lost his bid to declare an antenuptial contract (ANC) signed six years after their traditional wedding valid.

According to South African law, a customary marriage, via a traditional ceremony, is automatically in the community of property, which is classified as a joint estate.

The details of the divorce settlement remain unknown.

WHO ARE HIS BABY MAMAS, CHILDREN

While Black Coffee is known for keeping pics of his underage kids off social media, he’s made it known he is one proud father.

In 2023, the star was the picture of a doting dad after he took his firstborn son, Esona Maphumulo, as his “plus one” to the Grammys, where he scooped his first award for his album Subconsciously. He later dedicated his win to his children in a heartfelt social media post.

But what had fans intrigued was Black Coffee’s revelation that he had “five more kids” whom he hoped would one day witness their father’s success on a world stage.

Esona is Black Coffee’s eldest son and is also in the entertainment industry. Whilst the identity of his mother is unknown, Esona once posted – and deleted – pics of her at his 21st birthday celebration in 2020.

Black Coffee told TshisaLive that he was his first child when he was young and unemployed.

He said: “I was only 23 when he was born…even though all the odds were against me…being a student and no job, this was one of the happiest days of my life.

Not much is known about the DJ’s second son, Lilitha, nor his mother.

Asante and Anesu are Black Coffee’s sons with ex-wife Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.

According to City Press, Black Coffee allegedly fathered two children out of wedlock with two separate women, whilst married to Enhle.

In an interview with the publication, the DJ neither confirmed nor denied the rumours.

In 2020, a woman claiming to be the mother of Black Coffee’s daughter spilled the tea on their alleged affair.

Mimi Buthelezi claims that she had a sexual relationship with the DJ whilst he was married to Enhle, resulting in the birth of their daughter.

The woman spoke at length in an exclusive interview with a YouTube celebrity blogger, Ndivhu T.

The identity of the other woman remains unknown.
