The 26-year-old sent numerous death threats on Facebook and Snapchat to Abbie, who was dating Evanson’s ex Adam Garnett.

Abbie was left so terrified by the hate campaign that she installed security cameras at her home.

Evanson pleaded guilty to two charges of sending by public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message.

She was handed a two-year restraining order but avoided a jail sentence.

Warrington Magistrates Court heard the initial row erupted after Evanson called ex Adam about the daughter they share together.

The mum had also messaged Adam on May 26 threatening to kill Abbie.

Neve Flynn, prosecuting, said: “Further to this the defendant made threats over the phone to Mr Garnett, threatening to smash Miss Jones’s face in.

“The following day the defendant put a post on Snapchat and Facebook. Miss Jones was made aware of threat by a friend. In this post the defendant has threatened to kill Miss Jones.”

Abbie told how the hate posts left her scared for herself and her own children.

The prosecutor added: “She has sought to install cameras on her property for protection. Distress was caused to Miss Jones in particular.”

In mitigation, Evanson’s lawyer Melanie Camm said Evanson is “genuinely sorry for her actions”.

She also said Evanson was going through a “high risk” pregnancy at the time.

As well as a restraining order, the mum was ordered to complete a 12 month community order with a requirement that she attends 20 days of rehabilitation activity.

Evanson was also fined £80 with £199 in costs and a surcharge.

District Judge Jack McGarva told her: “I accept that there are two sides to every story but that does not really excuse you sending threatening messages like this.

“I won’t award compensation as that would inflame an already difficult situation.”
