JOE Thomas has broken his silence on The Inbetweeners reboot – sending a warning to fans of the Channel 4 comedy.
The Sun revealed this week that The Inbetweeners is set to return next year, with all of the original stars keen to sign up for the new project.

Joe, 41, starred in the show alongside Simon Bird, James Buckley and Blake Harrison.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Joe – who played Simon Cooper – confessed he’s definitely up for being part of the reboot.
He said: “This is something between Banijay and Fudge Park Productions, honestly, I don’t even really quite understand what the kind of brass tacks of this deal is.
“And I haven’t really been sort of told anything beyond that.
“I feel enormously close to all those people and obviously I love spending time with them, and if there was an opportunity to spend more time with them in any capacity, I’d love that… that’s pretty much all I can say.”
But Joe also warned that, now the fictional schoolboys would be all grown up, there’s a risk the show might not be as funny.
He continued: “I think wisdom does not make a very good narrative.
“The Inbetweeners is full of characters who are delusional to a large extent, it’s a show about delusion: Simon is naive and romantic and thinks that he’s going to have this love story, and Will is pompous, he’s intellectually delusional, Neil’s obviously stupid and Jay’s clearly delusional… he thinks that he’s this kind of sex god when actually he’s just this very vulnerable young man.
“When you get older, your delusions fall away, you look at life as it is. It means you get into less stupid situations I suppose, also the challenges get bigger you can make larger mistakes when you get older.”
Joe is working with study app Quizlet, which launched an ‘Unofficial Housemate Rulebook’ to help renters tackle conflicts and maintain the social contracts that lead to a happy home.
He said: “I have lived in shared accommodation during my time at university and as a graduate, and I have played the role of student in a messy house share.
“So, trust me, I know all about the ups and downs of living in shared accommodation. Whether it is the never-ending pile of bin bags or the mountain of dirty dishes in the sink, I would have benefited from a guide on how to be a good housemate.
“Thankfully, Quizlet has created an ‘Unofficial Housemate Rulebook’ to prevent a few of those familiar arguments from happening.”
