THIS time last year Selena Gomez was a permanent fixture in newlyweds Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’ life, famously joking they were all so close it was like a throuple.
But fast forward and the trio are no longer speaking – with insiders telling us Selena, 33, has been left feeling betrayed after she was unceremoniously dumped by the pair, in the same fashion they cut off Brooklyn’s heartbroken family.

Our source insisted: “There is no love left between the throuple, this trio is an old story. Selena really understands how his parents feel, she just doesn’t get how they could be so cruel.”
Reports of tension bubbling between the trio have been simmering for months, but the drama reached boiling point last week when Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, failed to attend Selena’s wedding to Benny Blanco.
We can reveal that the famous duo fell short by not sending so much as a card of congratulations to their former buddy, leaving her reeling and putting a damper on her first few weeks of wedded bliss.
While insiders claim Nicola and Brooklyn were unable to attend due to a busy work schedule, questions have been raised about why they refused to move things around for someone who was once so close in their lives.

It was however the final straw for Selena, who pals say has been struggling with their friendship for some time.
Our insider said: “Selena isn’t expecting anything at all from Nicola and Brooklyn anymore, there is a feeling of something broken and the fact that they didn’t even send a message to congratulate her and Benny for their wedding is something that really did hurt her.
“The fact that Nicola and Brooklyn didn’t show any effort or even a bit of love to her and her husband in that wonderful time was very, very disappointing.
“Selena is someone that really is 100% when she is in a friendship, and she feels like she’s been betrayed.”
We revealed earlier this year how Selena had ‘grown tired’ of Nicola’s ‘diva ways’ and her her ‘need for attention, and pals tells us the wedding invite was an olive branch to try and mend their fractured friendship.
Those close to Brooklyn and Nicola say they are aware of a pattern emerging in the couple’s behaviour – as they have also isolated themselves from his famous family.
Just a few days ago Victoria and David’s oldest son was notably absent from the premiere of his mother Victoria’s new Netflix show premier – the latest blow in a string of disappointments for the fractured family.
And Selena knows just how they are feeling, as a pal explained: “She is disappointed by their lack of maturity and how selfish they are.
“They are just focusing on themselves, and just seem to want attention from the media and their fans.
“Selena feels now that both Nicola and Brooklyn are showing their true colors, that they are cutting off like they are teenagers, when you argue with a close friend and just don’t communicate or show any love or attention to them.
“She feels like they bailed and isolated themselves in a selfish way.”

From the outside it certainly seems that way, the couple who were once front and centre of family occasions have retreated to the US and only seem to mix with the billionaire Peltz family. Concerns are growing that they are becoming increasingly isolated.
When they renewed their wedding vows last month, no one from Brooklyn’s side got an invite and David and Victoria were said to have only found out when saw photos looked online.
We told how heartbroken David and Victoria‘s feared that the renewal was a sign Brooklyn has “quit” the family for good.
A source said at the time: “This was the final kick in the teeth for David and Victoria.
“It feels cruel and spiteful. This is no longer a game. It has gone beyond all that.
“This is a family who feel they have lost their precious boy – and see no way back.”
Selena is said to be feeling a similar way and is considering removing the matching tattoo she had with Nicola, which reads ‘angel’ on both their arms.
‘Throuple thrown in her face’
Selena was one of the few people in the couple’s lives who knew Brooklyn before he got with Nicola, having been first pictured together way back in 2015 at New York Fashion Week.
And her friendship with Nicola has regularly been splashed over social media ever since they stepped out together at the Academy Museum Gala in 2022.
They appeared to be extremely close up until the final sighting of Selena on Nicola’s Instagram on March 11, 2024.
At one point Selena even shared a picture of them all lying together and hugging, as she joked: “Fine calls us a throuple #foreverplusone.”
Insiders say there is a level of regret on Selena’s part for putting so much energy into their friendship and feels it has been “thrown back in her face”.
She is said to have thought the wedding would have been an opportunity to reconnect, but in fact it appears to have driven an even deeper wedge between them.
And this week the couple appeared more isolated than ever before – as Brooklyn’s brothers and sister gathered on the red carpet, he was snapped driving around LA on his bike, with Nicola clinging onto him.
Any hopes of a reconcilliation with his family have well and truly been dashed and now it seems Selena has suffered the same fate.
The insider added: “Selena was very disappointed because she saw the wedding as a possibility to open another chapter in their relationship, but now it’s done.” It really does seem like three’s a crowd.
