SEAN DYCHE is the red-hot favourite to take over at Nottingham Forest if Ange Postecoglou is given his marching orders.
That’s according to Betfair, who’ve slashed odds on the former Everton and Burnley boss to just 1/2 to become the next man in the City Ground hot seat.

Nottingham Forest next manager odds

Betfair
- Sean Dyche 1/2
- Graham Potter 5/1
- Steven Gerrard 5/1
- Marco Silva 12/1
- Mauricio Pochettino 20/1
It’s been less than 40 days since Postecoglou replaced Nuno Espirito Santo – but the Aussie is already under huge pressure to turn things around.
Forest are winless in seven games under his watch, drawing two and losing five – including embarrassing home defeats to Sunderland and Midtjylland – while conceding 15 goals in the process.
In Postecoglou’s four Premier League games, his side have the third-lowest expected goals (3.28) and the second-highest expected goals conceded in the division (7.33).
After finishing seventh last season, Forest now sit 17th after seven games – just above the drop zone.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis is believed to be seriously weighing up his options, especially after the 2-0 loss to Newcastle before the international break – a match seen internally as a make-or-break moment for Postecoglou.
So who could take over?

Dyche, 54, is the clear frontrunner. He’s currently out of work after being axed by Everton in January and has strong ties to the club having started his career at Forest as a youth player.
He also still lives locally, while long-time coaching allies Ian Woan and Steve Stone – both ex-Forest favourites – could return alongside him.
Better yet for Forest, Dyche would cost nothing in compensation, a key factor after already paying off Nuno – and potentially Postecoglou too.
Next in the betting is Graham Potter at 5/1, with the ex-Brighton and Chelsea boss also available after a short-lived stint at West Ham.
Marco Silva (12/1), Steven Gerrard (5/1) – who recently turned down a Rangers return – and Mauricio Pochettino (20/1) also feature, though the latter is seen as a long shot given next year’s World Cup finals.
Betfair spokesperson, James Mackie said: “With speculation over Ange Postecogclou leaving Nottingham Forest after his poor start to his time at the club he is currently the 2/5 favourite to be the third English Premier League manager to leave.
“Sean Dyche has come out as the 1/2 favourite to succeed the Australian coach at the City Ground, with the likes of ex-Premier League managers Graham Potter and Steven Gerrard both priced as the 5/1 second favourite.”
