First look at new Beat The Chasers star as Darragh is REPLACED in show shake up

The hit show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, usually sees the core Chasers appear on the show.

All prior episodes of Beat The Chasers see Mark Labbett (The Beast), Anne Hegerty, (The Governess), Paul Sinha, (The Sinnerman), Jenny Ryan, (The Vixen), Shaun Wallace (The Dark Destroyer) and Darragh Ennis (The Menace) appear and compete.

But the upcoming episode will see Darragh missing.

He will be replaced on the show for a short while, which has left fans stunned.

This week the show shared a look at new Chaser The Maverick, who is temporarily replacing Darragh on this week’s Beat The Chasers.

“There’s A New Face In Town…

“The Maverick Has Joined The Chasers! But Who Could It Be?

“Find Out Sunday At 8pm On ITV,” the show shared on Instagram.

Reacting to The Maverick, fans have shared their thoughts on both Instagram and Reddit.

“What’s happened to Darragh?” asked one.

A second penned: “I’d love for it to be Michael Sheen – he’s a big fan of quiz shows/an avid quizzer and this would probably fit for him only being able to commit to a short-term stint.”

While a third wrote: “It’s a man, he’s short and called Maverick. Hellooooo Tom Cruise!!!”

“Can’t wait to find out who he is,” said a fourth.

A fifth asked: “So there’s 7 chasers now?”

“Now this is interesting,” penned a sixth.

A seventh predicted he could be “Judge Rinder” and another asked “Is that Jasper Carrot?”.

Beat The Chasers premiered on ITV in 2020 and has aired seven series since it first came out.

Contestants from all over the UK face head-to-head challenges with not one, but all of the Chasers in this exciting spin-off show.

In the Cash Builder round, contestants answer five multiple choice questions for the chance to bank up to £5,000.

However, if they start with a wrong answer, they are out of the game.

Then they are given the option of facing between two and all five of the chasers. The more chasers they are against, the more money they can win.

The show has a potential prize pot of as much as £600,000.

Beat The Chasers will be back on screens this Sunday on ITV at 8pm, and ITV+1 at 9pm.
