THE MAFS UK experts exploded at Steven for his behaviour towards Nelly.
Steven Springett, 34, and Nelly Patel, 30, tied the knot on the popular dating show, with things soon breaking down and resulting in him firing expletives at his wife.

It was Steven’s stint on a dating site two weeks before marrying Nelly, which was revealed by Julia-Ruth which caused the issue.
The drama eventually resulted in Steven branding his wife Nelly a “f***ing idiot”.
And it looks as though the pair are still struggling with their marriage, as they sit down for the experts for a commitment ceremony.
Steven looks annoyed as he asks Mel, Charlene and Paul: “Why weren’t my feelings considered in this?”
Having none of it, expert Paul responds: “That is a masterful deflection,” before sternly adding: “We are talking about your wife right now.”
The voiceover says it’s an “emotional make or break commitment ceremony” as Steven is then seeing breaking down in tears.
It comes as Steven complained to cameras that Nelly wanted too much kissing and hand holding during Monday night’s episode.
He also recently met Nelly’s sister during in-laws week, and it didn’t go down well.
He explains how he “muttered” under his breath “f***ing idiot”.
Nelly’s sister was stunned and warned: “You can’t accept that.”
Marriage breakdown
The rift between Nelly and Steven came after bride Julia-Ruth said that Steven had been bragging about his Raya usage while on a night out, with him even saying how he had slept with a girl just two weeks before saying “I Do” to Nelly.
After the revelation came to light during the dinner party, Nelly confronted her husband.
Confronting him about the rumours of him hooking up with a Z-lister before the experiment, which was allegedly discussed during a night out for some of the brides and grooms, Nelly quizzed him about what was true.
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
She explained how she had been told he was bragging about how he had “hooked up” with the “z-lister” and was talking about the sexual stuff he did before joining the experiment.
Blasting expletives at his wife, Steven fumed: “F**k me, who the f**k said that?”
“People have heard it,” Nelly said sternly.
She then added: “Do you know how it feels to have everyone tell you ‘this is how Steven’s been acting’?”
Steven snapped at his wife and said: “Two weeks before an experiment, Nelly.
“Do you know how f**king silly that is, to come into the experiment?”
Nelly replied: “Don’t get mad at me.”
Steven exploded again, saying: “F**king clownish, man.”
Then, in footage from the next episode after their confrontation at the dinner party, Steven blasted expletives at Nelly.
he said: “I get bored of saying the same thing over and over again”, during a heated exchange with Nelly in their bedroom.
She responded: “You keep saying that”, to which Steven fired back: “Well, don’t antagonise me then!”
Shocked, Nelly said: “Don’t raise your voice at me, before Steven replied: “F**king idiot”.
Heartbroken Nelly walks out of the room in frustration, but tells cameras in a confessional: “Why am I liking someone who’s treating me like this?”
This left viewers shocked and angered by Steven’s behaviour towards fan-favourite Nelly, with some slamming the producers and experts for pairing them together.
One viewer wrote on X: “My heart breaks for Nelly and her family watching reliving this. I sincerely hope she’s ok.”
