SASSA CHILDCARE GRANTS IN NOVEMBER 2025
There are currently three SASSA Childcare Grants in November 2025, as stipulated by the South African Social Security Agency. Only one parent may claim a grant for a child and not all of them will be applicable to your child/children.
More than approximately 13-million distressed parents receive the R560 SASSA Child Support Grant each month in South Africa. This stipend is the costliest to SASSA of any social welfare grant. Correct, even higher than the R370 Social Relief of Distress (SRD). In fact, if a parent puts a newborn onto SASSA Childcare Grants in November 2025, all the way to their 18th birthday, that child would cost the government approximately R150 000.
CHILD SUPPORT APPLICANTS WANTED
Nevertheless, SASSA still believes more can be done for young mothers/parents with newborns. As a result, the agency regularly makes calls for mothers with newborns to urgently register their newborns with the Department of Home Affairs and apply for government child support.
After you have been through Home Affairs online portal, be sure to bring the following documents with you when you apply:
- Valid identity documents (IDs) of you, your child and spouse (if married).
- Proof of marital status (marriage, birth or death certificate of your spouse).
- Official birth certificate and ID of the child you’re applying for.
- Proof of income (both you and your spouse).
- Certified three-month bank statement (no more than three-months old).
- Proof of address (a utility statement with your name on it that’s not more the three-months old).
SASSA CHILDCARE GRANTS IN NOVEMBER 2025
When it comes to SASSA Childcare Grants in November 2025, three will be disbursed on Thursday 6 November 2025. As mentioned, besides SASSA Child Support, there is also Foster Child and Childcare Dependency. However, to qualify for either of those there are specific tests.
A child must be declared disabled by a government-appointed doctor for Care Dependency. Likewise, you are only eligible for the SASSA Foster Child grant if you are the rightful, court-appointed foster parent in accordance with the South African Child Care Act. The grants pay R2 320 (Care Dependency) and R1 250 (Foster Child),respectively.
