South African actress Stephanie Sandows recently marked one year since her father’s passing with a heartfelt tribute and a family hike held in his memory.
Sandows shared that she spent the weekend “celebrating his life and legacy.” Surrounded by loved ones, she expressed her gratitude for the support her family has received over the past year, writing:
“We miss you deeply, but we’re so grateful for the family and friends who’ve surrounded us with love and support over the past year.”
She described her father as a man who “lived with a servant’s heart,” someone who always honoured others and “loved out loud.”
Sandows added that the scripture engraved on his tombstone perfectly captures the example he set for their family:
Romans 12:10
‘Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.’
Her tribute ended with a simple but moving message:
“I hope I’m making you proud.”
When she announced her father’s passing in 2024, Sandows shared how much she would miss his warmth and presence. Stephanie fondly remembered his random visits, often saying he was “here to see your grandchild” before playfully asking, “Have you cooked?”
