Um, what? Chappell Roan is beefing with the feds, and they just told her to ‘get a grip’

Chappell Roan has never been one to mince her words, and in a moment that fully cemented her icon crown, she told a packed audience to “f*ck ICE forever.”

Chappell Roan went from indie artist to worldwide superstar practically overnight, and while her songs are undeniable bops, she’s also become known for her no-nonsense attitude. She fought with Billboard for their reporting, yelled at a photographer at the VMAs, and put her supporters on blast for “creepy” behaviour. Well, now she’s upped her adversaries, switching out those creepy fans for the literal federal government.

While performing at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in California over the weekend, she told the crowd: “I’ve been living here nine years. I’m originally from Missouri, and I had a really, really tough time the first five years.

“I’m not gonna be eloquent about this, [but] I loved LA more than ever than when I saw how the community came together in Altadena to help, same with the Palisades. I just realised that I’m so lucky to be able to live here and to play here, and the city has taken care of me, and it’s my duty to take care of it back.”

Moments later, she declared, “F**k ICE forever”, and the crowd went completely nuts with applause and cheers of support. Despite the outpouring of support from both the audience and people online, Homeland Security did not take kindly to the pointed jab.

The feds told Chappell Roan to ‘get a grip’ after her ICE comments

As TikTok and Twitter are flooded with videos of masked ICE agents tackling people to the ground, Homeland Security’s press officer, Tricia McLaughlin, took time out of her busy schedule of firefighting to comment on Chappell Roan’s anti-ICE comments.

“Pink Pony Club is good. Pedophiles are bad. That’s who we’re getting off of our streets. Get a grip,” she told TMZ.

Though Tricia might have been thrilled by her response, American people on Twitter said it illustrated the state of the country in 2025.

“When did our government agencies become teenage girls,” one person said.

Another wrote: “Glad our tax dollars are paying for the DHS to be able to clap back at Chappell Roan….”

“While Americans are standing in lines at the food bank and can’t afford groceries or healthcare, arguing with celebrities is the most important issue to the Trump administration,” someone else added.
