Strictly fans slam bosses for ‘cruel’ move after ‘abysmal’ Results Show shake up

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans have slammed bosses for a “cruel” move after “abysmal” Results Show shake up.

Last night, TV presenter Ross King, 63, became the second celebrity to leave Strictly after losing the dance off to Balvinder Sopal.

But fans have hit out at a huge change to the format of the Sunday night show.

The shake-up to the Results Show now sees four couples waiting at the end to find out who has avoided the dance off.

Before this series of Strictly, host Tess Daly would announce the first couple that would face the dance off earlier in the show.

But now they make four pairs wait until the end – with two couples safe and two revealed to be in the dance off.

Fans have slammed this new shake-up as being “stressful” for the stars, especially celebrities who suffer with anxiety like Vicky Pattison.

Taking to social media to vent, one fan said: “Vicky just had a horrible week and had to stand there waiting to find out if she was in the dance off and now doesn’t even get to de-stress in the clauditorium. does anyone actually like these changes?”

Another added: “They need to change that format. Vicky anxiety I bet was on another level.”

This one vented: “I hate it….it’s so unfair that the last 2 couples that are safe don’t get to talk to Claudia.”

A fourth fumed: “Hate the new format. It’s cruel for the stars to have to wait. Bosses need to admit defeat and change it back immediately.”

Meanwhile, last night’s Result Show saw Good Morning Britain star Ross leave the show.

The legendary broadcaster grew tearful as he thanked everyone on the show, including his pro partner Jowita Przystał during his exit speech.

He said: “I have loved every single minute of it. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, all the people who voted – they’ve been amazing.

“I want to thank everyone here in this room, backstage, the judges, the crew – every single person here has made me so, so welcome.

“And, I want to thank a very special lady who has been with me through it all and has been absolutely everything: she’s been a mentor, teacher, carer…

“I could not have wished for a better partner, and I could not have wished to be on a better show. Thank you judges for all your remarks.”

Soon after the Results Show ended, Ross broke his silence on his Strictly exit.

Taking to Instagram he shared behind-the-scenes pictures from Saturday evening with his co-stars.

He captioned the snaps: “There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for this amazing opportunity.

“Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me – the Strictly cast and crew, friends, family, my wonderful dance partner Jowita, and most importantly, to the fans.

“I hope like me, you’ve been inspired to try something new and as always, keep dancing!”

Ross was flooded with support from his Strictly family, with host Tess Daly saying: “Adored by the entire team you will be SO MISSED Ross.”

Lewis Cope – who received the first 10 of the series – said: “Big love Ross.”

Geordie Shore star Vicky, who appeared in a number of Ross’s pics, added: “Love you so much @therossking. I’m going to miss you so much too.”

Chris Robshaw wrote: “Ross you are an amazing man and you shall be missed. I loved our Calcutta Cup battles on the dance floor and dressing gown coffees.”

Strictly airs on Saturdays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
