FORMER NFL star Mark Sanchez has been released from hospital and booked into jail following a violent alleyway brawl that left him with multiple stab wounds.

The ex-New York Jets quarterback, 38, was seen walking into the Marion County Community Justice Campus on Sunday morning, wearing a sling on his arm.

Footage from FOX59/CBS4 captured the moment he entered the facility to be formally processed, appearing alert but subdued after his release from medical care.

His mugshot was taken shortly after – marking the latest twist in the shocking incident that unfolded more than a week ago in downtown Indianapolis.

Sanchez spoke to the outlet, thanking first responders and the medical team who treated him.

He said he was “just grateful to be alive” and credited his surgeon with saving his life.

The former QB had been hospitalised since October 4, after allegedly attacking a 69-year-old truck driver in a hotel alley.

Reports claim he became enraged when the driver reversed his cooking oil recycling truck into the alley.

During the altercation, Sanchez allegedly threw Perry Tole against a wall and to the ground.

He was then stabbed several times in the torso before being rushed to hospital.

He had travelled to Indianapolis to call the Colts vs Raiders game for Fox Sports when the late-night clash unfolded.

Sanchez now faces a slew of charges – including battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony.

He’s also charged with battery resulting in bodily injury, unauthorised entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication endangering another’s life.

Prosecutors added the felony count last week, claiming Sanchez was the aggressor in the brawl.

Legal documents allege the elderly driver suffered serious injuries during the violent confrontation.
