Padley won via unanimous decision[/caption]
Padley headed into the lightweight clash as the favourite but was given a stern test by Bellotti.
There was little to separate the two fighters but the judges thought differently.
Padley was awarded the win via unanimous decision, with the judges scoring it 99-92, 97-93 and 97-93 in the Brit’s favour.
Pundits and fans were shocked by the result with Adam Catterall saying on talkSPORT: “99-92, what was that?”
Fans were in agreement with some making unfounded claims the fight was rigged.
One reacted saying: “Disgusting scorecard, 99-92 that judge needs investigating.”
Another added: “99-92?? Might be one of the worse scorecards ever.”
A third wrote: “I had Padley winning but that scorecard is ridiculous.”

And another commented: “Boxing so rigged.”
Bellotti fumed with the result and slammed the scorecards himself.
He said: “I’m absolutely fuming.
“All boxers know when you’re in there. I felt there’s not a chance I thought he won it.
“I thought it was reasonably close but I thought I edged a lot of the rounds.
“He was in a lot of pain to the body. He was a tough man and he got through it. But those scorecards were f***ing outrageous.”
