Angela Rayner moves lover Sam Tarry into her new seaside home weeks after quitting as Deputy PM over stamp duty scandal

ANGELA Rayner has moved her lover Sam Tarry into her new seaside home – weeks after she quit as Deputy PM over the stamp duty scandal.

She was seen leaving the £800,000 three-bedroom apartment in Hove, East Sussex, shortly after her former MP boyfriend Sam Tarry walked out clutching a set of keys.

It comes after The Sun on Sunday revealed last week Tarry was seen moving items between Ms Rayner’s flat and his house in nearby Brighton – helped by her taxpayer-funded security guards.

A source said: “Angela and Sam certainly seem to be taking the next step in their relationship.

“They have been spending a lot of time together recently – and now it would appear they have moved in together.”

Former Labour MP Mr Tarry – who lost his Ilford South seat in last year’s general election – has been in an on-off relationship with Ms Rayner since 2022.

The dad-of-two, 44, who is separated from his wife, wore a grey and white camouflage cap, jacket and jeans as he emerged from Ms Rayner’s home on Thursday morning.

Mum-of-three Ms Rayner, 45, had left shortly before with a close protection officer.

Ms Rayner was forced to resign on September 5 after it emerged she had failed to pay £40,000 in stamp duty on her Hove pad.

It came after The Sun on Sunday revealed in August that she had purchased the apartment – earning her the nickname “Three Pads Rayner”.

Ms Rayner already had a grace-and-favour flat at Admiralty House in London’s Whitehall – as well as being registered at her family home in her constituency of Ashton-under-Lyne, Gtr Manchester.

She later tearfully claimed she had been given incorrect tax advice when purchasing the Hove pad, leading to her underpaying on stamp duty by £40,000.

But Sir Laurie Magnus, the PM’s Independent Adviser on Ministerial Standards, found she had breached the ministerial code by underpaying tax.
