Celebrity Traitors pay revealed with ALL stars getting the same huge fee as they’re forced to slum it in budget hotel

IT’S fair to say that Celebrity Traitors has had the nation gripped this week.

The much-loved BBC One series made it’s comeback with a star spin-off show – and how much those celebs were paid to take part has been revealed.

The show, which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman, is filmed in exactly the same location and with the same rules as the original The Traitors.

The only difference being – the stars taking part get paid on Celebrity Traitors.

For the civilian show, contestants get their expenses covered which works out around £100 per day.

This is VERY different when it comes to the star spin-off – by A LOT.

Much like fellow BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, it has been revealed that each celeb gets paid the same flat rate, which for Celebrity Traitors is a fee of £40K, according to the Daily Mail.

This is in stark contrast to ITV shows like I’m A Celeb and Celebrity Big Brother, where stars can negotiate how much they are paid.

It is also reported that the stars also stayed in the same budget hotel as the civilian contestants do.

They are booked in to the £80-per-night Courtyard by Marriott hotel which is not far from the famous castle where the show is filmed.

A source told the Mail: “They must have had a shock, some of them would never have stayed anywhere that s*** before, it was hardly salubrious.”

Show bosses also reportedly only wanted household names for The Celebrity Traitors.

That’s why the enlisted stars like Alan Carr, Stephen Fry and Kate Garraway.

Meanwhile, the fall out from the first murder on Celebrity Traitors continues to rumble on.

Paloma Faith was the first star to be killed off on the show – and it was done at the hands of pal Alan Carr.

It has since emerged that Paloma was reportedly left “fuming” behind the scenes after being given the chop.

The singer was the first elimination on the BBC show and allegedly felt “betrayed”

“She threw a wobbly afterwards about being the first to go,” an insider told the Mirror.

“Some players just shrug it off when they leave, but Paloma was fuming when she discovered who had betrayed her.

“She couldn’t work out what had actually happened, and when she found out the details it only made her feel worse.

“Paloma is loud and wears her heart on her sleeve – it’s fair to say that she wasn’t happy with going home first,” the source alleged.

The Sun contacted Paloma’s representatives and the BBC for comment.

On the first episode, Chatty man Alan, talk show host Jonathan Ross and chart-topping singer Cat Burns were all recruited by Claudia Winkleman as Traitors.

The trio were tasked with carrying out the first Faithful killing, with comedian Alan opting to take out his showbiz pal Paloma.

She was poisoned by Alan’s touch before her funeral unfolded in Thursday’s instalment.

Paloma wasn’t best pleased when she discovered her mate Alan was a Traitor during Ed Gamble’s after-show, Uncloaked.

Sitting down in the Traitors castle, the singer was shown the identities of all three – and she couldn’t believe it.

“These are like three of my favourite people that I was sure… I hope they never call me again,” she told the spin-off presenter.

“Bang out of order. Bang out of order. I feel really even more betrayed now. I feel betrayed by Jonathan and Alan.”

She also took aim at Cat as the pair share a mutual manager. “She’s on the same record label as me, and she should have some loyalty.”

Later on in the show, Paloma appeared to take aim at Alan and said she wouldn’t have killed him if “the shoe was on the other foot”.

“I don’t think he should have done it to me, and I’m surprised that he did,” she said..

The Celebrity Traitors continues Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9pm on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer.
