Did you guess the star in question is Carrie Henn who played Newt in Aliens?[/caption]
The star in question is Carrie Henn, who played Newt in the 1986 movie Aliens.
She was just ten-years-old when she starred in the sci-fi movie alongside the legendary Sigourney Weaver.
In the iconic film, which was a sequel to the 1979 movie Alien, Carrie’s character Newt is the only survivor from the Hadley’s Hope settlement on Acheron following a Xenomorph infestation.
Sigourney character Ripley then strikes up a bond with the youngster and spends the movie risking her life to protect her.
Carrie landed the role after a casting agent came to her school.
She wowed during the auditions and landed the part.
Speaking about being on set for the first time, Carrie previously told avpgalaxy.net: “To be honest with you, I don’t know if I completely understood the process of what was going on and we thought it was a small part in the movie.
“We didn’t realise that it was as big of a part as it was. I mean we were kind of clueless so I guess everybody was kind of laughing because of how well she and I had kind of hit it off.
“I guess they pretty much knew that I was gonna get the part then anyways and then shortly after they called and told us we had the part.”
However, despite the success of Aliens, Carrie ditched Hollywood almost immediately and pursued a completely different career.
Speaking to Tulsa World in 2016, she said: “That’s what a lot of people have a hard time understanding.
“They don’t understand that [acting] wasn’t my passion. It wasn’t my dream. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Was it an amazing experience? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Of course.”
The former actress is now a teacher, after realising this was her true calling.
“But it [acting] wasn’t my passion. Teaching was,” she told the outlet.
“As a child, I always enjoyed sort of lining up my dolls, especially my Cabbage Patch Kid and teaching to them and I really enjoyed that kind of stuff.”
