About the Hitachi Kenkijin Bursary 2026
The Hitachi Kenkijin Bursary Trust supports ambitious South African students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies in specific fields related to business and engineering.
This bursary is part of Hitachi’s commitment to investing in future leaders who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Successful applicants will be required to sign a one-year commitment agreement upon acceptance of the bursary.
Fields of Study Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for studies in the following fields:
- Accounting (CA/SA)
- Human Resources
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Procurement (CIPS)
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria to be considered:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between 16 and 35 years old
- Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Must be studying or intending to study towards one of the above-listed fields
- Must be registered or intending to register at a recognised higher education institution in South Africa
- Must have achieved a minimum average of 75% if currently studying
- Must have proven financial need
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants must submit clear and certified copies of the following documents with their online application (incomplete applications will not be considered):
- Certified copy of ID document
- Proof of admission or registration at a tertiary institution
- Certified copy of latest academic transcript or tertiary record
- Proof of address (or letter confirming residence with parents)
- Profile picture (head and shoulders)
