Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, takes place on Monday, 20 October 2025. If you’re looking to buy delicious snacks and spiritual treasures for the occasion, the Flavours of India food festival has got everything you need.
Makers Landing at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront will be transformed into a food-lover’s paradise, where you can indulge in authentic Indian cuisine from curries, roti kebabs and biryani to burfi, ras malai and laddoo.
Plus, you will have the opportunity to buy jewellery, incense, traditional outfits, homemade decor and other goodies.
FLAVOURS OF INDIA: DATE, TIME AND PARKING
The food festival will take place next Saturday, 18 October 2025, giving you plenty of time to stock up on your Diwali essentials. The starting time is 12:00.
It will be held at Makers Landing at the V&A Waterfront. It is situated at the Cape Town Cruise Terminal.
There are plenty of parking facilities surrounding the waterfront that you can use, including Victoria Wharf, Battery Park and Breakwater. Parking rates vary.

ENTERTAINMENT AT FLAVOURS OF INDIA FOOD FESTIVAL
If you’re looking to feel the rhythm, India-style, there will be live music performances and DJing sets from the likes of Youshan, Zerina Sablay, Kush Palsania and DJ Ray Ray.
South African chefs Kamini Pather and Prim Reddy will also be making their appearance at the festival, where they will dish on their culinary journeys and share some insight on the vibrant flavours of Indian cuisine.
For the kids, there will be a playing area on-site, so be sure to bring your little ones along for a day of family-friendly fun!
FOOD FESTIVAL: A CELEBRATION OF INDIAN CULTURE
