A NEW core social welfare payment hike of €10 is set to benefit 1.5m people from January, on top of an increased Fuel Allowance sum. The €10 hike to key payments such as Jobseeker sums and pensions will come alongside the new €38 euro weekly rate of Fuel Allowance in the New Year.
