The celebrity spin-off will see stars compete in a Scottish castle to win up to £100,000 for charity with Claudia Winkleman fronting the show.
Huge names like Stephen Fry, Charlotte Church, Olympian Tom Daley, TV’s Clare Balding and rugby ace Joe Marler feature as part of the 19-strong celebrity line-up.
The show sees the group work together to eliminate the “traitors” in the group so the “faithfuls” can share the prize money.
However if a traitor is unmasked in the final then they win the entire prize money pot.
Celebrities have long been wanting to take their place in the game including TV legend Paul Chuckle.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun at Tulley’s Shocktober Fest, Paul revealed: “Love The Traitors. I watch it all the time, I wanted to be in.”
“They wouldn’t let me in. They said ‘you probably wouldn’t be able to do all the physical bits’.”
But Paul is not giving up and still hoping to be included in next year’s lineup: “Next year. Hopefully.”
When asked about whether he would like to be a traitor or a faithful, he said: “I’d love to be a traitor, scheming.”
Paul was best known with brother Barry for their children’s programme ChuckleVision, which aired for 22 years from 1987.
With a career spanning half a century, the Chuckle Brothers have popped up in all kinds of shows.
Their career was launched by an appearance on the talent show Opportunity Knocks in 1967.
From 1996-1998 they presented the children’s game show To Me, To You named after their signature catchphrase, which was set on a desert island.
They featured on a number of other variety shows before securing their own kids show which catapulted them to fame.
Barry sadly died from bone cancer at 73 in 2018.
At the time, Paul said: “I’ve not just lost my brother, I’ve lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend.”
Paul’s health was also affected after battling coronavirus in 2020 – but at the time he reassured fans that he was “on the mend”.
He has made a full recovery since and taken up a few reality TV bookings including Celebrity MasterChef and The Real Marigold Hotel.
Last year the veteran funnyman was even in talks to be lined up for Celebrity Big Brother.
The BBC series Traitors will air two nights a week, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 9pm.
