MORE than one million people across Ireland will benefit from a 100 per cent social welfare boost later this year as part of Budget 2026. Finance Minister Jack Chambers announced that 1.5million people on long-term social welfare schemes will receive a Christmas bonus aimed at “supporting families over the festive period”.
