STEVEN GERRARD has shot to the top of the betting market to be the next Rangers manager.
talkSPORT BET have have listed the potential candidates to take over the Ibrox hotseat from Russell Martin after he was eventually axed over the weekend.

Rangers fans have finally got their wish after yet another dismal display in the draw with Falkirk.
However, Martin being escorted across the park and into a private car away from the team bus, which had been blocked in by angry supporters, was a rather sad sight.
The calls from supporters started pretty early on in his reign, increasing after their humiliating 9-1 aggregate defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League play-off, with fan protests at almost every game that has followed.
A win at Livingston last week probably gave him slightly longer, despite repeated chants of “Martin, get to f***” but Rangers have lost their two games since with a bit of a whimper.
The dire Falkirk showing was the straw that eventually broke the stubborn camel’s back, with a club statement reading: “Rangers Football Club confirms that it has parted company with Head Coach, Russell Martin.
“While all transition periods require some time, results have not met the club’s expectations.
“Assistant Head Coach, Matt Gill, and First-Team Coach, Mike Williamson, will also be departing.
“Russell and his staff have worked exceptionally hard throughout their time at the club. We thank them for their efforts and wish them well for the future.”
talkSPORT BET have priced up a next Rangers manager market as a result.
Next Rangers manager odds

talkSPORT BET odds
- Steven Gerrard 11/8
- Sean Dyche 9/4
- Danny Rohl 5/1
- Kevin Muscat 5/1
- Derek McInnes 5/1
- Mark van Bommel 8/1
- Gary O’Neil 10/1
Kevin Muscat was the man for all the money over the weekend when backed from 12/1 into 2/1 but he’s since eased in the betting.
Steven Gerrard is the new bookies favourite with many fans desperate for his return and he’s now 11/8 from 3/1 over the weekend.
Gerrard remains out of work after leaving Saudi Arabia and may be attracted by the new ownership.
Sean Dyche is a 9/4 second favourite and was strongly linked before Martin’s appointment.
Danny Rohl is a 5/1 shot alongside Muscat, however the latter has been a frontrunner the last three times the job has become available so you have to wonder if that ship has sailed.
Interestingly Derek McInnes is also 5/1, halved from 10/1 though Hearts will surely be keen to hold onto him.
Mark van Bommel is 8/1 and Gary O’Neil is 10/1.
