Entry fees for the Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretive Centre at Golden Gate Highlands National Park have been released.
The centre was opened on 22 June 2025 and South African National Parks’ (SANParks) offered free entrance to the centre until 30 September 2025.
Entry fees to the centre are as follows:

Free entry period now over
SANParks welcomed over 55 000 guests to its newly unveiled Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretive Centre since its opening on 22 June 2025.
That was coupled with a free entry offering that was offered until 30 September 2025.
The centre is based at Golden Gate Highlands National Park in the Free State province.
Around 180 schools used the free entrance opportunity since the opening.
During this time the majority of the visitors were domestic travellers, primarily from the Free State (72%), Gauteng (16%), and KwaZulu-Natal (3.5%).
The centre also enhances the local economy with local accommodation establishments seeing a significant increase in accommodation take up.
The local entrepreneur at the centre (who employs 20 people from local community) has seen a huge increase in sales.
Additionally, four interpretation officers at the centre are from the local community.
The Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretive Centre is open daily from 08:00 to 16:00.
Guided tours are also available for those looking to gain deeper insights into the centre’s exhibits and the region’s rich paleontological history.
