Johannesburg is gearing up for a night of explosive energy and unforgettable performances as Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus World Tour lands at FNB Stadium this Saturday. But before you turn up for the Utopia hitmaker, concertgoers are urged to brace for major traffic disruptions around the stadium precinct.
The highly anticipated show is set to kick off at 20:30, with gates opening from 16:00. If you’re one of the lucky ones with VIP or Hospitality tickets, arriving early isn’t just a suggestion; it’s a must to avoid traffic snarl-ups and ensure a smooth entrance.
According to JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla, full road closures will begin at 11:00 AM as part of traffic control measures around the venue.
These are the roads that will be affected:
• Soweto Highway
• Golden Highway
• Nasrec Road
• Booysens Reserve Road
Fihla is encouraging fans to skip the traffic chaos by using Park & Ride services, a stress-free option offering secure parking and return transport from multiple locations, including:
Sandton City, Melrose Arch, Centurion Mall, Montecasino, Clearwater Mall, Cresta Shopping Centre, Greenstone Shopping Centre, Mall of Africa, Menlyn Park, East Rand Mall, The Glen Shopping Centre, Gold Reef City Casino, and The Grove Mall.
For those traveling from the city, Gautrain services will run with increased frequency between Park Station and FNB Stadium, making it easier to arrive on time.
Fihla also urged both concertgoers and nearby residents to exercise patience before, during, and after the concert, warning that post-show traffic congestion is likely as thousands of fans make their way home.
