About the V3 Consulting Engineers Bursary Programme 2026
The V3 Consulting Engineers Bursary provides financial support to undergraduate and postgraduate students studying within the fields of Engineering or Construction Project Management at accredited South African universities.
This bursary aims to develop young professionals who will contribute to South Africa’s engineering and infrastructure industries by offering financial assistance, vacation work opportunities, and mentorship.
Fields of Study
The bursary is available for students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in:
- Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related disciplines)
- Construction Project Management
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria before applying:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between 18 and 22 years old
- Must have completed Matric
- Must be studying towards a degree in Engineering or Construction Project Management
- Must be registered for 3rd year, 4th year, or postgraduate studies
- Must be enrolled at a recognised and accredited South African university
- Must have a strong academic record with no failed subjects
- Must not be receiving financial assistance from any other institution
- Preference will be given to Employment Equity (EE) candidates who meet the above criteria
Selection Process
Bursary recipients will be selected based on the following:
- Academic potential (based on full academic record)
- Behavioural competencies (assessed during interviews)
- Employment Equity representation
- Validation of ID and qualification
Applicants will undergo a pre-selection screening followed by a final interview before final selection is made.
Bursary Conditions and Benefits
- Academic performance will be reviewed biannually (June and November).
- If results fall below the required standard, the bursary may be discontinued.
- Students maintaining strong performance will receive continued funding until the completion of their studies.
- Recipients may be offered vacation work during university breaks (subject to availability).
- Vacation work provides exposure to different Business Units within the company.
- Students will gain access to graduate mentorship programmes for career development.
- After graduation, bursary recipients may be invited to join the V3 graduate recruitment process and assisted in registering with professional bodies such as ECSA or SACPCMP.
