The announcement comes as Jordaan attends the 47th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Member associations

The high-level gathering, chaired by CAF president Patrice Motsepe, brings together all 54 African member associations and is scheduled for 6 October 2025.

The FIFA committee will be chaired by Paraguay’s Robert Harrison, with former Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick appointed as Deputy Chair.

Both Pinnick and Jordaan also serve as Advisors to Motsepe and are members of FIFA’s broader competitions committee.

Jordaan is widely recognised for his role as the CEO of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa – the first and only World Cup hosted on African soil – which continues to be praised as one of the most successful editions in the tournament’s history.

His appointment to the FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee strengthens Africa’s voice within world football’s top decision-making structures and underscores his long-standing contribution to the global game.
