SAVVY shoppers are racing to Dunelm for a bargain buy that will keep your house warm all winter without having to turn on the heating.
The popular homeware retailer is selling a stylish set of faux-fur thermal curtains that can help cut your energy bill over the cold months.

Thermal curtains help to prevent draughts at your window, which can account for up to 30% of heat loss in the home – meaning you’ll have less need to keep the heating on.
They can also help to block out unwanted light and noise from outside.
And shoppers who have purchased Dunelm‘s thermal curtains say they’re “well worth the price”, with sets starting at just £8.75.
The Lenon Thermal Eyelet Curtains come in four colours – navy, olive, orange umber and silver – and are available a range of sizes, from 46×54 inches to 90×90 inches.
Designed to provide extra insulation, they feature an “opulent, faux fur texture and a thermal lining”, Dunelm says on its website.
They’re perfect for adding glamour to your home, while keeping it “cosy and energy efficient“, the retailer adds.
Made with 100% polyester, the thermal curtains are also machine washable – ideal for households with pets or young kids.
Delighted fans have given the curtains five-star reviews on the Dunelm website, with one describing them as “absolutely gorgeous!”
“Good quality, Not to heavy. Well worth the price. Ended up getting two colours Blue & silver,” the shopper added.
You can get your hands on the curtains in Dunelm stores, or you can order them on the homeware giant’s website for delivery or click and collect.
But you’ll need to be quick, as all colours except the silver are currently sold out online.
If you don’t manage to nab this popular faux fur option, other high street retailers such as The Range are also selling thermal curtains, while you can also pick them up from online retailer such as Amazon.
For an even more budget-friendly option, resale sites such as Gumtree often sell nearly-new winter warmers such as thermal curtains and draught excluders.
And if you don’t feel like swapping out the curtains you already have this season, you can still keep your home warm on the cheap with another Dunelm bargain buy.
The retailer’s Thermal Pencil Pleat Curtain Linings cost from just £10 and come in a variety of sizes.
Other winter bargain buys
Turning on the heating is set to get even more expensive, with energy bills rising from October 1.
But there are plenty of bargains to be found right now on the high street that can help you battle the cold weather as winter draws nearer.
Wilko is selling an electric blanket for £18.99 – and it costs just 1p an hour to run.
The Slumberdown Sleepy Nights Electric Blanket has three clever heat settings, and comes with straps so you can fasten it onto your mattress to keep you warm all night long.
Meanwhile, Home Bargains is selling a hot water bottle belt so you can enjoy the heat hands free.
B&M is currently offering throws from just 75p that come in a range of styles and colours.
Elsewhere, Amazon’s 99p draft excluder is the perfect cheap solution to making your home more insulated in the colder months.
The bargain buy perfectly seals gaps in your doors and windows, and prevents warm air from escaping.
By trapping heat inside your house, your home will feel warmer, meaning you may not need to put the heating on for as long.
4 ways to keep your energy bills low
Laura Court-Jones, Small Business Editor at Bionic shared her tips.
1. Turn your heating down by one degree
You probably won’t even notice this tiny temperature difference, but what you will notice is a saving on your energy bills as a result. Just taking your thermostat down a notch is a quick way to start saving fast. This one small action only takes seconds to carry out and could potentially slash your heating bills by £171.70.
2. Switch appliances and lights off
It sounds simple, but fully turning off appliances and lights that are not in use can reduce your energy bills, especially in winter. Turning off lights and appliances when they are not in use, can save you up to £20 a year on your energy bills
3. Install a smart meter
Smart meters are a great way to keep control over your energy use, largely because they allow you to see where and when your gas and electricity is being used.
4. Consider switching energy supplier
No matter how happy you are with your current energy supplier, they may not be providing you with the best deals, especially if you’ve let a fixed-rate contract expire without arranging a new one. If you haven’t browsed any alternative tariffs lately, then you may not be aware that there are better options out there.
