The University of the Free State (UFS) invites unemployed graduates to apply for the Internship: GPS Hub Reception (Job ID: 6248) within the Career Services Unit at the Bloemfontein Campus. This is a one-year contract appointment designed to provide practical administrative experience in a higher education environment.

Stipend: R9 100.50 per month
Responsibilities
The successful intern will be responsible for:
- Receiving parcels and sorting incoming mail.
- Circulating communication to GPS Hub staff.
- Updating GPS Hub staff administration (telephone/birthday lists).
- Managing visitor logs and key control.
- Coordinating reception functions and shared venue bookings.
- Supporting Student Affairs and CTL administrative processes.
- Welcoming and directing visitors.
- Providing first-line support for general GPS Hub enquiries.
- Answering telephone and email communication.
Minimum Requirements
- B-degree (NQF Level 7) in:
- Office Management
- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- Communications
- Human Resources Management
- Must be unemployed, with no previous formal work experience.
- Must not be participating in another learnership or internship.
- Willingness to sign an internship agreement with UFS.
Recommendations
- Good organisational and event management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of CareerHub (Symplicity system), SharePoint, and Canva for presentations.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work under pressure and interact professionally with students and staff.
