25-year-old teacher caught ‘making out’ with student after sending 33,000 explicit messages

A 25-year-old teacher has pled guilty to charges of child enticement and sexual misconduct after sending a young student 33,000 explicit messages. Maddison Bergmann, a former fifth-grade teacher from Wisconsin, was caught after her victim’s mother overheard a phone call, leading to the discovery of a shocking text messages between Bergmann and the 11-year-old boy.

The scandal came to light after the boy’s mum became suspicious and discovered the thousands of explicit messages. The texts, which ran for months, revealed disturbing grooming and abuse, with Bergmann allegedly sending the boy messages during school hours and after.

Court documents show how the disturbing relationship became increasingly explicit. School resource officer Traci Hall testified that the messages contained mentions of touching, kissing, and how Bergmann would become “aroused in class”.

Screenshots of texts between the pair were shown to investigators that revealed Bergmann saying how much she enjoyed the student touching her and “making out” with him.

The New York Post reports that the boy’s father, upon discovering the texts, went to the school and handed over printouts of the messages, exposing the former teacher’s obsession. Some of the texts shared in court included phrases like “I love you, want to kiss you, you turn me on, and I am obsessed with you”.

An officer reportedly found a folder inside Bergmann’s backpack with the victim’s name on it that contained handwritten notes.

In one of them, Bergmann allegedly wrote: “One of my cousins is in the 5th grade and I can’t imagine a man talking to her how we talk. I know we have a special relationship and I do love you more than anyone in the world but I have to be the adult here and stop.”

Bergmann, who worked at River Crest Elementary, was arrested in May, just three months before she was due to be married. Her fiancé immediately called off their engagement upon hearing the news.

The court found enough evidence for the charges to stand, and Bergmann is set to be sentenced on the 22nd December.
