Elon Musk condemns Malema: ‘Genocidal maniac’

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, has publicly condemned Julius Malema following his unlawful firearm guilty verdict in court on Wednesday, 1 October.

The Pretoria-born man has called out the Economic Freedom Fighter leader to be jailed over the incident, as well as over his decision to sing Apartheid era song, Kill The Boer.

ELON MUSK REACTS TO MALEMA’S GUILTY VERDICT

On his X account, Elon Musk reacted to a news article about Julius Malema’s guilty verdict.

He posted: “That genocidal maniac needs to be in prison.”

Musk has been vocal about his criticism of the EFF leader, who he believes is “pushing white genocide in South Africa”.

In February, Musk posted a video of the 42-year-old condemning a white politician.

Musk tweeted: “Immediate sanctions for Malema and declaration of him as an international criminal!”

The EFF leader clapped back in the comments section: “I really think you have entirely lost your left brain. A typical spoiled brat and direct beneficiary of Apartheid whiteness. I know black people look the same to you, typical racist. Look closer, and you will realise those are two different people. America is exposing us to its stupidity.

He added, “I don’t care about your sanctions. I will never stop fighting for black people to be equal to white people. And if that makes me an international criminal, I am proud to be one.”

WILL HE GO TO JAIL?

On Wednesday, 1 October, Julius Malema was found guilty of the Firearms Control Act.

The EFF leader and his bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman, were accused of discharging a firearm at the party’s fifth birthday celebrations in Mdatsane in 2018.

Malema – who faces a minimum sentence of 15 years imprisonment –  was found guilty on five charges; unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, discharging a firearm in a public place, reckless endangerment of people or property, and failing to take reasonable precautions to avoid danger.

Snyman was found not guilty on two charges.

According to legal expert Ulrich Roux, there was a “good chance” Malema could serve a prison sentence.

He told the BBC: “He now needs to present evidence to the court to show why… he should not receive the minimum sentence of 15 years”.
